SUBJECT: COMMUNICATIONS - AVIATION SATELLITE COMMUNICATION (SATOOM) SYSTEM - SIDE-MOUNTED HIGH GAIN ANTENNA SATCOM SYSTEM PARTIAL PROVISIONS INSTALLATION
BACKGROUND
Change instructions and a kit of parts were prepared for the installation of Side-Mounted High Gain Antenna Satellite Communication (SATCOM)
System partial provisions.
ACTION (MC 2325MK4047)
In the flight compartment:
- In the PB panel, install two wires
- Near terminal track TD340, change two wires
- On the P7 circuit breaker panel:
- Replace circuit breaker indicia strip
- Install one circuit breaker with collar
- Install one INOP marker
- Add two wires.
On the E42 SATCOM equipment shelf:
- On airplane RT649, replace existing AP1601 disconnect panel with a new configured panel
- On airplane RT654, make changes to existing AP16O1 disconnect panel
- On the AP16O1 disconnect panel, install one RF splitter and one 3-way Combiner
- On the aft outboard corner of the shelf, replace existing bracket with HP relay mounting provisions bracket
- Install one nutplate spacer
- Remove two relay mounting brackets, one RF combiner and one RF splitter
- Remove one tray cover
- Install one High Power Amplifier (HPA) tray assembly
- On terminal track TD431, install seven new
terminal blocks, two spacers and two end blocks
- Replace existing W3831 wire bundle with new pre-fabricated W3831 wire bundle
- Move two existing wire bundles to the new relays.
Install one new power wire from the flight compartment to the E42 equipment shelf.
In the main equipment center, install and remove two wires in the E2-5 wire integration unit W4250.
Between Stations 1660 and 1680 in the main passenger compartment:
- Between Stringers 8L and 9L, 8R and 9R, install new left and right LNA/Diplexer mounting provisions respectively
- Between Stringers 10L and 11L, 10R and 11R, install left and right Beam Steering Unit (BSU) mounting provisions respectively
- On Stringers 11R and 11L install one ground block each location
- Between Stringer BR and the E42 equipment shelf, install new wire mounting provisions
- Between Stringer 8R and the E42 equipment shelf, install four new pre-fabricated wire bundles
- Between Stringer 8L and the E42 equipment shelf, install four new wire bundles.
Between Stations 1660 and 1700 on the skin between Stringers 9L and 12, 9R and 12R, install left and right High Gain Antenna mounting
provisions.
CAUTION:
WHEN YOU INSTALL THE ANTENNA MOUNTING PROVISIONS, DO NOT CUT FULL SIZED HOLE (2 LOCATIONS) THROUGH THE SKIN UNLESS YOU PLAN TO INSTALL THE HIGH GAIN ANTENNA AT THE SAME TIME YOU DO THIS SERVICE BULLETIN. THIS SERVICE BULLETIN DOES NOT PROVIDE INSTRUCTIONS TO INSTALL THE HIGH GAIN ANTENNA OR A COVER PLATE OVER THE FULL SIZED HOLES.
